Project Description
Mason & Rook, part of the Viceroy Brand, is located at the heart of Logan Circle in Washington DC. Mason & Rook is "a stimulating space that encourages creativity. A playful take on the urban jungle". These public spaces are made for artists, curators, writers, and patrons of the arts to gather, share ideas, and propel opportunities.
Working on a team of 4-6 people, I had the opportunity to work on the IA and FFE sides of the design from Design Development through Construction Administration.
Role included:

Working with team on Indesign presentations
-
Space planning and furniture layouts to meet code
-
3D architectural design studies in Sketchup & Revit
-
Preparing FF&E packages with space diagrams, budgets, quotes, samples, matrixes, specifications, custom carpet design with Senior Designer
-
Creating palette selections and writing finish schedules
Maintain communication with purchasing agents, vendors, and art consultants -
Design and develop custom detail drawings of furniture in AutoCAD with Senior Designer

Assist Senior Designer to review shop drawings and production prototypes by furniture millworkers
-
Develop full Design Development, Pricing, and CD Sets with plans, elevations, detail sheets, and millwork for public spaces and guestrooms under Project Manager

Setting up guestroom type matrixes for CD set

Assisting Project Manager responses to RFI’s, submittals and coordination questions

Preparing FFE and CD Set Index Outlines and internal work plan for project team for IA and FFE teams
